Name: Ameryth “Aime” Reiz
Age: 30
Date of Birth: June 17
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Face Claim: Original character (couldn't find the artist)
Appearance:
Height: 5'5
Distinguishing Features: Aime’s horns aren’t too terribly large, but are certainly large enough to get in her way at times. Colored a glossy jet black, her horns resemble deer horns in that they branch out in a few places. The tip of each of these “branches” are slightly rounded. Though they aren’t sharp enough to outright stab anyone, a good poke from them could leave a nasty bruise if she so chose. Aime also happens to actually have two tails. Like her horns, each of them are colored black and reach down to about the center of her calves. The tips of each tail is actually three pronged, though each prong tightly coils upon itself, making this hard to see. Occasionally when bored, Aime might be seen dipping the tip of her tail into a hurriedly made bowl of soap water and using it as a makeshift bubble blower. It usually doesn’t work out so well, but she keeps hoping.
Aime’s wings, unlike here horns and tail, are colored a dark purple. Other than that, they aren’t too terribly extraordinary – just your typical bat-like demon wings. They’re large enough to carry her pretty lengthy distances, spanning the length of her arms, but she usually keeps them hidden, preferring to walk unless she’s in a hurry.
For the most part she chooses to conceal her tail and horns based on whatever circumstances she finds herself in. If she’s traversing through the forest, she’ll hide them so they don’t get caught on any low branches, for instance. But sometimes she lets them out when the whim hits her. She’s actually quite fond of them, her horns in particular.
When it comes to fashion, comfort takes priority for Aime, but she is fairly attentive to the way she looks. Because she’s moving quite a bit of the time or just sitting around in a really awkward way, she can usually be seen wearing shorts and a tank top. When it gets colder, she might wear a pair of jeans, but usually she just throws a pair of stockings under her shorts and calls it a day. That said, though, she’ll definitely jump on the chance to wear sweaters – she’s quite fond of their fluffiness.
Character Class: Demon
Residency: Blanoir Village
Likes: Aime loves trash. Or trinkets – it’s all about perspective, right? In short, Aime likes finding things that have been lost, or otherwise abandoned. Rusty gears, cheap rings, old toys, a patch from an old quilt, etc, etc. These things are usually very small, and she just finds them adorable. She usually finds these little treasures while on one of her usual strolls either out in the wild or in a shop, obscured by more extravagant (and probably cleaner) items. When she finds some, she promptly scoops them up (yes, even in the stores – without paying), takes them home where she gives them a thorough cleaning if needed, then chooses from a numerous selection of shelves lining the walls of her home to display them on. She even has a few of them dangling from the ceiling.
More than trinkets, though, Aime loves gems. Really any stone that’s even a little bit different from usual. She’s borderline obsessed with the things. In fact, when she’s out in about, Aime spends the majority of her time in one of the many caves she frequents, digging around for anything that looks even remotely sparkly. The results of these excavations take up the majority of the space on her shelves.
Dislikes: Aime doesn’t have too terribly many things that she outright dislikes, but being in an enclosed place for too long is certainly one of them. Although her ventures do occasionally take her to the more urban spots riddling the world, she finds staying in the shops or restaurants there to be quite suffocating. She usually doesn’t last fifteen minutes before she’s making her discomfort quite clear and hurrying out into the street.
Personality: Aime is a pretty chill demon. At least, she likes to think she is. But strangely enough, she’s found that those that happen to be graced with her presence prefer to call her “careless” or “socially inept” rather than the much preferred (and much nicer) word “chill”. This hardly bothers her. Much like every other social cue, Aime may take a moment to consider this phenomenon as mildly strange before giving that particular person a smile. Aime pretty much floats through life, taking things as they come with a calm that is usually pretty inappropriate for the occasion.
Aime is also a demon of very few words. That isn’t to say that she’s completely quiet most of the time. Rather, Aime prefers to keep her sentences short and sweet. And sometimes offensively direct, though it’s hard to say whether she does this on purpose or not, what with that ever present unreadable smile always playing on her lips. Though, sometimes she does have something shockingly insightful to say.
One of Aime’s most prominent traits, though, is the fact that she’s nearly unreadable. Aime is impulsive. Very impulsive. One moment, she may be taking a leisurely walk through a village, and in the next moment she’ll be rocketing into the sky after remembering she left something at home. She might be having a heated spat with someone (likely a one-sided spat) and right when said person is about to spit out a particularly spicy insult, she’ll reach over and squish their cheeks. There’s really no telling what she might do next, and that has succeeded in breaking more of her friendships rather than making them.
Despite her overall relaxed nature, though, Aime is also capable of being quite possessive. Mostly when it comes to her “treasures”. If, say, someone were to try and touch any of the countless trinkets in her home, she’d be over in a flash, calmly admonishing them if they were about to touch it, or gently taking it from their hands if they actually managed to pick it up. She would never actually harm anyone if they did this, but she goes out of her way to make it clear that they were off-limits. This possessiveness also extends out to the few friends that she managed to keep, though her response can occasionally be a bit more…heated in this case
History: Aime’s upbringing was tightly confined in a world dictated by academics. In a way, her story is a bit cliché. She and her parents lived in a modest home out in The Sticks. Despite their small home, however, her parents were actually fairly well off thanks to their agricultural ventures. But they wanted more for their only daughter. The two of them wanted her to eventually leave The Sticks and make it big somewhere, make them proud and yada yada. Aime walked this path with really no argument. She attended and was active in school with an alarming amount of studiousness and diligence for a demon. Her grades were excellent, and she was well on her way to attending university.
One day, Aime took a wrong turn on her way to school. To this day, she still can’t fathom how, considering how she’d never done so before. But regardless, that wrong turn led to another wrong turn, then another that was not so accidental, and soon Aime found herself away from home for over two weeks. Predictably, her parents panicked. They sought help from their neighbors, and eventually even extended their reach to the city. But at the end of those two weeks, she returned, her school bag bulging and even tearing in some places from their contents. Her clothes were dirty and torn and she even had a few scrapes and bruises here and there, but she was grinning wholeheartedly for the first time in years. During those two weeks, Aime had wandered around, exploring and gathering, breaking past barriers she’d never dreamed of breaking. And frankly, she was keen on doing some more breaking.
After graduating, Aime opted out of attending university, to the dismay and horror of her parents. Once she’d managed to drag some form of a blessing from them, she made her way to Blanoir Village. There, she managed to rent out a room from an older angel who lived on her own in the village. It didn’t take long at all for her to warm up to her. From the very beginning, she was patient with Aime despite her eccentricities and she loved her for it. The angel also taught her how to make jewelry, even going so far as to show her how to melt down certain metals and how to properly cut gems. For a couple of years, she stayed with the angel, gradually accruing these skills until she received the suggestion to start selling them.
From there, Aime formed her own little business, albeit a small one. She started with making small rings and necklaces from the gems she would find on her excursions. Soon, though, she became more experimental, using other things she would find like bolts from a machine or glass shards from a broken jar. She eventually moved out of the angel’s home and purchased a house for herself that was located right at the edge of the village, close to the forest. From her home, she continues to sell her merchandise (of course keeping the more alluring treasures for her own collection) and her popularity has just begun to reach out past the borders of the village. Recently, she’s even started branching out a bit more into sewing territory.
Notes: As stated in her Likes, Aime has a habit of taking mostly unnoticed items from shops, but this habit also can extend to other people’s houses. She does have some restraint, though! She only pilfers things from those she’s grown a bit attached to. She might pick up something small or shiny from table or from the floor and take it home with her. A friend might visit her house and find a ring they’d lost sitting on her desk.
