Once upon a time, there was a certain world among a vast ocean of worlds. It had two groups who brought destruction unto each other. Why did they fight? The reason must have been lost to time. Though, no doubt the reason doesn't matter. Through long conflict and destruction, their battle continued as if eternal, vying for control. Many from both sides perished, their hatred for each other grew, and the tides of war swayed many times.
At the end of the war, there was nothing left. The remaining survivors included only God, the Devil, and four of their most trusted subordinates each. Realizing this is all that war would produce, they realized it was for naught. Though the specifics of what happened in those peace talks are lost to time, the one thing that is clear was that peace was rectified.
They chose to co-exist. Together, they recreated the world and brought about a new more peaceful time. Some may think it was folly; some may think it was for the best. And so an era of peace reigned for a considerable amount of time; and era that they would hope could last a very long time. This is that very sanctuary of peace, where Angels and Demons chose to co-exist. One that goes against the very nature of their being. A world that contradicts the status quo of many worlds not unlike theirs. This mattered not to the denizens of this world, who had grown to accept this world as the norm and had nearly forgot such conflicts. Especially so to those who watched over their world; protecting it, from the inside and out.
